How to Help

Compact Discs
If you have any CDs lying around and no longer need, please send them in. These could be music or computer discs. Thank you.

Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers
This great fundraising scheme started again in February 2007, so don't forget to say "yes" if they offer you vouchers at the checkout and bring them into school. Last year, we collected over 4,000 vouchers. This bought some multi-skills equipment, eg, fitness ladder.

Tesco Computer for School Vouchers
The 2007 scheme has now started. These valuable little tokens are helpful in our quest to improve our computer suite in school. Please bring in as many as you can. Thank you.

Nestle Box Tops Tokens
Box Tops for Books offers FREE educational books from Dorling Kindersley in exchange for tokens found on the tops of boxes of Nestle cereals and cereal bar packs. Over 120,000 books have been sent to the 1,000s of participating Box Tops registered schools over the last two years alone.
Once a term there is a bonus week where the school can earn more Box Tops helping raise more funds, so please keep bringing in these valuable little tokens.
Old Books & Magazines
We are having a good sort out in school at the moment. If you have any old books or magazines which your child has finished with, do drop them into school as we're doing two things at the moment. We're setting up magazine boxes in classes, thanks to the PTA funding a subscription to a brilliant magazine for each class. Also, we're passing on any older style books to the local charity "Feed the Children" who have links with schools in developing countries who will really appreciate them. Thank you!
Parent Volunteers
Do you have any spare time? Could you pop into school to lend a hand? We are always very grateful to have volunteers helping at school; there are so many things you could do; reading, sewing, cooking, photocopying, helping with displays, the list goes on & on...!

We really welcome help for the first half hour of every morning when we do our reading groups. If you could come once a week, every other week, or the occasional session - every offer is gratefully received.

Mostly parents prefer to volunteer in their child's class - very occasionally this doesn't suit a child so we may talk to you about how that goes. Indeed some parents prefer helping out elsewhere!

If you can help out, do speak to your child's class teacher and say when would be good times for you. You will need a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check if you become a regular volunteer for our school - please see Mrs Martin to arrange that.
Parents and Teachers Association
The PTA supports the school by fundraising and organising social events. It also provides an opportunity to meet other parents who want to give some of their time to helping their child's school. If you would like to become involved or would like more information please visit our PTA Fundraising Page. You can also e-mail the PTA: PolehamptonInfantsPTA@hotmail.co.uk

Families can also help by attending the various events organised by the PTA - see our Diary Dates Page for a full list of events.
Hunt & Nash Estate Agents Offer
One of our local estate agents has a great offer for the school. Hunt & Nash are prepared to give £150 to our school if our school and this promotion are mentioned by anyone who instructs Hunt & Nash to sell their property. This will be paid if they successfully sell the property and after they have received payment from the vendor. They must also have been made aware that they are receiving instructions as part of the school promotion before you have formally instructed them to market their property.
Curriculum Enrichment Donations
There is an ever-increasing cost to purchase items for art and craft. We therefore ask parents to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of the art materials used in the lovely creations that your children make at school and bring home. Thank you for your contributions.
