Newsletter No. 14
Friday 14th December 2007

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

The Sleepy Shepherd
I have a very proud feeling about all our girls and boys today after their fantastic performances of our Nativity Play. I hope you all enjoyed the play and have some new Christmas memories. Do take a look at our web-site for photos of every class in their costumes.

Church Service
If you would like to walk down with us to St Mary’s Church on Thursday for our church service please see your child’s class teacher.

After School Clubs
Thanks to Spanish club for coming along to sing us some lovely Christmas songs in Spanish and to Fit and Funky for showing us their great dance. These clubs will both start up again next term, so watch out on the newsletters.

Happy Hours building work
Please be aware that Happy Hours are having repairs made to their roof next week, so there will be builders on site. We have meet and discussed health and safety procedures, but please make sure your children are kept well away from that area before and after school – thank you.

Reminders!

Just a reminder that class parties will be on Monday afternoon, don’t forget your party food and change of clothing!

Also our last day on Friday is a non-school uniform day .
School will finish at 1.50pm

Individual Photographs
A couple of parents have asked if  we could arrange for Tempest to come back and take individual photographs of those children who
missed out due to sickness.  Unfortunately, I don’t think we have enough pupils to warrant this. However we will check to see if those children who missed out could have individual photographs taken when the children have their class photos taken during the summer term.

PTA
Christmas Fair
A HUGE thank you to parents for supporting the fair.  It was a great success and a very enjoyable afternoon.  The PTA have raised over £1,700 for the school.
Everybody put in so much time and effort especially the committee and I should like to thank them, all the helpers including the children, teachers and all the parents for their support. Thanks also to Father Christmas for coming to us during this busy time!

Prizes still to be collected (from school office):
No 12 Book Collection – Claire  (who unfortunately the PTA have been unable to contact)

You may have noticed that the official promoter for the raffle was John Lawrence. John kindly agreed to us using his name because his company, Microsoft, has an employee charity matching scheme.  With John promoting the raffle, we have been able to ask Microsoft for an additional £750 to match the profit from the raffle tickets, which should take our Christmas fair total to £2450.   Please let us know if your employer has any similar schemes as we are keen to maximise the money we raise for the school in any way possible!

Christmas Stocking Tree Decorations
Claire Howells has 15 Christmas Stocking Tree Decorations (including lindt chocolate) left over from our Craft Evening.  These are available from the school office at a cost of £2.00 each.

Lost Property
We have rather a lot of lost property items building up in the school office, please feel free to come and look through if your child has lost anything.

Local Weather Forecast
Cloudy all weekend!

Have a great weekend,

Helen Ball
