Newsletter No. 10
Friday 16th November 2007

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Bring your mum or dad to lunch week - 19th November
Thanks for all those who have returned their slips to the office. We cannot accept any further requests this time, but keep your eye for another chance next term.

Craft Evening
Well done to the PTA for creating a fantastic evening last week. It was such a lovely atmosphere, with time to make something, shop, enjoy the chocolate fountain - a perfect evening!!

Pantomime Letters
Thanks to everyone who has returned their consent forms for the pantomime. Please remember we cannot take any child without this form.
Please ask in the office or print one from the web-site if you need another form.

Well done to Green Class
What a marvellous assembly from Green Class this week!
You all looked like you were having so much fun and have enjoyed learning all about space.

Year One cake sale
Well done to Year one who raised £90.90 at this week's cake sale.

Diary Dates
Please note a change of date for the Nativity play. Little ones will now be invited to the afternoon performance on Thursday 13th December instead of the morning performance. This was due to a clash with Happy Hours Christmas show.

Tesco Sports Vouchers
Tesco Sports Vouchers have now finished, however we are still collecting these at school. Please send any remaining vouchers into school asap - thank you.

Help needed in the Library!
Is there any parent/carer who might have an hour or so to spare maybe once a week, to help keep our Library in order. If you think you are able to help please see Mrs Smith.

PTA News

Thank you to all of you who supported our PTA craft and shopping night last Friday. It certainly looked like everyone had a fun evening, with many proud faces emerging from the workshops and a lovely chance to look at some more individual shopping stalls without the children around. As well as the social aspect we managed to raise £386 towards the playground, so thank you once again.

Another successful fund raising activity that has been going on in the background this term is the selling of surplus items from the PTA cupboard on ebay. Lerren and Rob Perry have very kindly been leading this initiative and we are very pleased to say that so far we have raised £281.22. The most exciting auction ended last week when a signed Everton team photo from 2 seasons ago (just happening to feature Wayne Rooney) sold for an amazing £102! If you have anything that you would like to sell on ebay and donate either all or a percentage of the profits to the school, please e-mail polehamptoninfantsPTA@hotmail.co.uk or contact Claire outside Green class for further details. And if anyone would like to support us by writing off to some more sports teams/ celebrities for things we could sell please also get in touch (seriously)!

Paul Johnson, who has children in both Happy Hours and the Junior School, has kindly offered to continue to get the Infant School Christmas tree this year. He goes to a nursery where they grow the trees and you can go out into the field to select which tree to chop down. As his own children are not currently in the Infants, Paul has offered to take another family with him to help choose a tree for school. He will be going on the weekend of 1st or 2nd December. Please fill in the slip at the bottom of this letter if you would like your child's name to go in a hat to win a chance to choose our school tree. A lucky family name will be pulled out randomly on Friday 23rd November.

We had a good turn out for the PTA meeting on Wednesday and plans are shaping up for a great Christmas fair on Saturday 8th December. Although we have some more active team members, we would also like to get a list of others who could lend an occasional helping hand when needed. If we could call on you for an occasional bit of wrapping, furniture moving, stall manning or some other similar tasks, could you please fill in the slip at the end of the newsletter.

Local Weather Forecast
Sunny intervals on Saturday, light rain on Sunday!

Have a great weekend,

Helen Ball
Headteacher.
