Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

PTA Summer Fair - The Show Goes on!!
We have a plan B for Saturday's Summer Fair! We can move most activities indoors as we do very year for the Christmas Fair, so do come along even if it a bit soggy!
Lots of fun and games, treats and nibbles with our balloon release finale. Thanks in advance to the PTA committee. So much work has gone on behind the scenes; it really is very much appreciated!
Pre-ordered Krispy Kreme Doughnuts can be collected from a stall near to the red gate from 2.30pm. A few boxes will be for sale on the day for £6 each at the Cake stall.
2TenFM's Black Thunders will be here for the fair! They will be asking if children want to do some recordings for a new feature called Foxy & Tom's Class Act - parents' permission will be sought before this goes ahead.

Questionnaires
We have decided to send out a questionnaire to our Red and Blue class parents this term. Previously, we asked for feed back at the end of year two only but think it would be useful to capture your thoughts on your child's first class straight away. These will be going out on Monday.
Any outstanding Yr2 questionnaires - Please return by Monday - Thank you

Open Evening
Next Wednesday from 3.30-6.00pm is our Open Evening for Parents for all classes except Red Class. This operates as a drop-in, so do come along any time and you will have a chance to look at your child's work and talk to the teacher. If you would like a fixed appointment or a more private conversation, please do speak to your child's class teacher who will be happy to arrange something with you.
Red class parents will be offered a full appointment, as this is your only parents meeting this year. We have sent home today a sheet for you to indicate which times would be best for you. If you could return that on Monday, you will be given an actual appointment for your meeting - thank you.

Children's Art Exhibition/Science and Arts Week
Next Tuesday, from 3.00-4.00pm, we have a very exciting art exhibition in the school hall. Every child has completed a piece of artwork, which has been professionally framed. It will be exhibited and you will be able to buy the framed piece on the night. If you cannot attend, please complete the attached form to pay.
The children have worked very hard and the exhibition should look very impressive.
We have had such a busy week, with science day on Monday, leading onto arts week, all on the theme of the 5 senses. Do look on the web site for photos of the week's activities, particularly our visit from Thabani, our African dance on his 4th visit to our school.

Red Class and Childrens reports
Red class and any recently arrived children's reports have been sent home today.
We hope you find these a useful summary of achievement.

Bring your mum or dad to lunch week.
It was great to see so many mums, dads and grannys this week all enjoying lunch at school. Thank you for all the compliments we received. Our dinner ladies and Jim do a fantastic job with all our childen and our kitchen staff serve up super meals.

Polehampton Day
As I said last week, I was so pleased with how much we managed to achieve of Polehampton Day. There are some great shots on our web site and in this week's Twyford Advertiser. We will be doing the Yr1 dance at the beginning of sports day on Thursday 12th July at 1.30pm, as some of our parents missed out on seeing that due to the rain.

10,168 Tescos vouchers collected!!
Wow! This is better than any other year! Many thanks!

Scrap Paper
Wanted! Any spare paper for the children in Foundation to draw on.

Welcome to Mrs Dobson
Mrs Julie Dobson will be starting work on Monday as our new school secretary - we hope she will be very happy here. Mrs Rodgers will continue to support her for the first few days - a big thank you to her for everything she has done in the office over the past few weeks!

Building work in the school grounds
from Monday 2nd July until the holidays!
We are having a new oil house built, so we will have contractors and their equipment on site.
This will only impact on the side of the grounds, where the bike racks are.
Therefore, the bike racks will be out of use for the rest of this term.
Children can chain their bikes inside the pond area during this time, but an
ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY THEM INTO THIS AREA.
Please be vigilant with your children, especially younger children during this time.
Thank you!
