Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
The Farm!!
This was a wonderful visit from a local farm. The children had fun learning about different farm animals and how to handle them.
Thank you to the Round Table!
This week, we received a cheque for £312 as a donation towards a new tree that will be planted in the playground to replace our fallen walnut tree.
And....Thanks to the Twyford Advertiser
Thanks to everyone who sent in the "cash for Schools" tokens before the holidays. We weren't one of the winning schools but as we collected over 200 tokens we will receive a share of the remaining £11,000 from the Trust, which works out as £392. This will go in to school fund and pay for Wednesday's farm visit.
A huge thank you to both - we're so lucky to get support from other local charities.
Thank you to our parents!
We are also extremely fortunate that many of our parents work in rather generous companies or think of us when they are having a clear out. In fact, any support is gratefully received, whether it is resources, donations or your time.
Holiday Absences
Also any pregnant women should keep well away from the farm, as they may be bringing lambs, which has health implications for expectant mums!
Having written earlier in the year about being so pleased about the number of holiday requests I'd received this academic year, I am now rather dismayed at the number coming in! This is particularly an issue in Year Two, which is proving very disruptive this half term during their end of Key Stage One assessments. It is always worth speaking to the class teacher before booking to check what they will be missing.
However, any time not at school is time that cannot be repeated or replaced.
Please consider this when thinking about booking holidays in term time.
Curriculum Activities
Your child will be bringing home this term's activities sheet today. Do take a look to see what we're up to alongside all the core skills on literacy and numeracy.
