Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Blue Class Assembly
Well done to Blue class for what was your very first assembly all about Elmer the Elephant!!! Great songs and dances, lovely work and all done with real enthusiasm - well done!!
Do take a look at our web-site for photos of their work.

Happy 50th Birthday to "The Cat In the Hat"
We do have a great photo of some of Green Class children wearing their hats for last week's "The Cat in the Hat" celebrations, though I was a little disappointed that the photo was edited, as it missed off the bottom line of children!
Do take a look at our web-site for the photo in its full glory!

Joint Thank You Assembly with the Junior School
We really enjoyed all going up to the Juniors this week for our Thank You assembly. It is so good to take the time to thank all our supporters for everything they do for the school - we appreciate it so much! See Twyford Advertiser's photo of the event.

Bring your Mum and Dad to Lunch week
Thanks for all the returned slips we now have for next week's food fest! I'm afraid we cannot accept any more now, as Mrs Potter has now completed her food order for next week. We will be running another week next term, if you would like to come then.
If you've already sent in a form, please arrive at about 12.00 noon. We'll let you go at the beginning of the line and your child can join you. Take a seat with your child and enjoy! You can then either stay for playtime or leave after you've eaten.

Twyford Advertiser's Cash for Schools Vouchers
We're getting close with our voucher collection total of 200 - at the last count we had 171. The last vouchers will appear in next week's paper, so do please cut out and bring in any you may be keeping for us at home.

Clearing away the tree
We finally have a date for this work. It will happen when the children are off site in the Easter holidays, which is good news indeed!

The School Web-site
We do apologise if anyone was trying to access our web-site earlier this week - it was down for a few days for maintenance. It's all back up now and has some fab new photos so do take a look.

Shoe-Biz Appeal
Just to let you know that Blue Peter have achieved their targets of collecting 1million shoes! In fact they now have 1,082,011 shoes - and we were part of that!!

Lost Sweatcardie/Sweat jumper
There have been occasions this week where the children have taken off their cardies/sweatshirts due to the slightly warmer weather. Some of these items did not go home with their proper owner. May we ask that you check the labels and return to the office if your child has taken a cardie/sweatshirt home by mistake.
May we take this opportunity to reiterate how important it to label ALL items of clothing. Thank you.

Year 2 Cake Sale
The PTA have organised another cake sale next Thursday (15th). All cake donations will be gratefully received by Mrs Martin!

Red Nose Day - The Big One
Comic Relief says "Money from Red Nose Day will go to Comic Relief, which launched in 1985 and has raised a whopping £425 million so far. From helping children living in extreme poverty in Africa to get an education, to enabling disabled people challenge prejudice and discrimination in the UK, that cash has helped changed countless lives.
We can make a big difference. £5 will buy a school uniform for a child in Ethiopia, which they must wear to be able to go to school, ensuring they get an education. £50 will provide toys for a toy library in a disadvantaged area of the UK, meaning parents can play with their children even when they can't afford to buy the toys themselves.
Pupils will also be learning in class about some of the serious issues behind Comic Relief. Please help us make this Red Nose Day The Big One by joining in, having fun and raising some cash!"
So, next Friday will be very exciting!. Children can either wear something RED and their own clothes or wear something BIG, like their dad's shirt (please make sure they can still run, play and work safely!) and, of course, their RED NOSES!!! We still have plenty in the office if you haven't got yours yet. Take a look at the web-site for ideas of things to do at home.
