Newsletter No. 21
Tuesday 20th February 2007

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Welcome back after our half term break, I hope you all had a great holiday.

Volunteers Day - this Saturday!!!
On Saturday, we are holding a Volunteers Day. We want to do some gardening and some painting inside. We'll be here between 10.00am and 4.00pm. If you think you might be able to come along and help out for any part of the day, please fill in the slip below, so I know to organise refreshments - thank you.

Welcome to Mrs Stone
Mrs Stone has joined us today as one of our lunchtime controllers. This is such an important role within the school, so we're delighted to have someone with her enthusiasm join our team. We hope she will be very happy here with us.

Lines and Footprints by the Hermitage Drive entrance
I hope you all like the new lines and feet painted by our Hermitage Drive entrance.
Please do encourage the children to walk behind the trees now - we want to keep the pedestrians and cars separate - many thanks.

Lent Booklets
Today your child will be bringing home a great little booklet called "Love Life, Live Lent - be generous to yourself, your neighbour and the world". This booklet is published by Church House Publishing and was recommended to us by St Mary's Church.
Whilst we know that not all our children will be celebrating Lent at home, as a church school, we will be talking about it in school. So do take a look at it and decide if it's something you would like your child to try out. Many ideas are simply about being kind and thoughtful, whilst a few have a more directly Christian theme.
You can use it as suggested or just pick out a few ideas - there is a page at the back of the booklet to Parents & Carers.
Do let me know what you think or let your child bring in any pictures or photos of them trying out the ideas. As the booklet says
"Together we can build better and more generous communities.
Together we can lighten our load on the planet. We can show God's love when we do these things.
Together we can lighten our load on the planet. We can show God's love when we do these things"

Best Wishes,
