Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
Green Class Assembly
What a treat! Green class, thank you for your lovely assembly this week. We learned a lot about Malaysia and hot countries! I hope all the parents and friends who came really enjoyed it too!
Tomas Won!!!!
Congratulations to Tomas Fleming from Orange Class who won the Reading Chronicle's Christmas Card competitions!! Thanks to everyone who voted for him! He should be in the Reading Chronicle next Thursday, celebrating his win!
PTA Christmas Fair
Many thanks for all the donations sent in so far. Do keep them coming then we can make this a fantastic fair. Good luck to the Juniors with their Fair tomorrow.
Anti-Bullying Week - Random Acts of Kindness
This week has been national Anti-bullying week, so we have spent some time talking with the children about what bullying is and how we can stop it happening. The school council have done some excellent work on this - see their news below.
We've also been keen to look at and encourage positive behaviour too. So the children and teachers have been doing "Random Acts of Kindness" for each other this week. Every one pulled a name out of the hat and had to do something very kind for that person, something that didn't cost anything at all. We've had lovely pictures being drawn, people being let into the line ahead of their friends, lovely little kindnesses! In the staffroom, there have been lots of extra cups of tea and coffee on the go!
PTA Chocolate Fountain Hire
You can now hire the PTA's chocolate fountain if you have a special event planned. Please pop into the office to get details.
School Council News
The School Council met this week and together they wrote a Children's Charter for Bullying (see below). The charter is written in the children's own words and was part of our work for Anti-Bullying Week. It is now displayed in every classroom.
Bullying
We don't want any bullying at Polehampton Infant School.
- You should tell a grown-up if someone is bullying you or your friends.
- The grown-up will listen to you and help you sort it out. They might talk to the person who is bullying you aswell.
- The grown-up might need to tell your parents about it so they can help to sort it out too.

Cinderella Pantomime Trip
We still need a few more consent forms for the Cinderella trip. Please do return the slip, as we cannot take a child without it and we really want everyone to come!
I thought it might be useful to clarify a few points, especially for our new parents. The children do not need to bring anything with them; we will take the usual fruit that we offer at playtime for the interval. Children must be in school uniform - this really helps on trips as they are much easier to spot as Polehampton children. We will be back for lunch in the normal way.
Final amounts - Many Thanks!!
For last week's Children in Need collection, we raised £112.05 and the year one cake sale made £89.55.
Blue Peter Shoebiz Appeal
We have now collected 75 pairs of shoes - can we make our 100 pairs challenge? Do have a hunt around and see if we can do it before Christmas!
"SHARE THE LIGHT" - A CANDLELIGHT ADVENT SERVICE - 4PM SATURDAY DECEMBER 9TH, ST MARY'S CHURCH, TWYFORD. Tired from all that Christmas shopping? Come and take part in a short, family friendly service designed to help us with the spiritual preparations for Christmas. The service will include a collection for CMS, (The Church Mission Society) an organisation that works with Christian communities across the world. "Share the Light" is part of a year long commitment by the members of the Twyford Area Local Ecumenical Partnership to pray for families and individuals in our community.
