Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Purple Class Assembly
I heard such great things about this assembly that Purple class did a re-run of their Puppet Show for me on Thursday! It was lovely that so many parents and friends were able to come and see the fun!

Book Fair
Our School Book Fair will still be here on Monday after school. There are some fabulous books this time, great for Christmas presents. Every purchase helps the school buy more books, too.

Menu
Attach please find copy of this term?s menu. For your information, next week will be week 2.

Christmas Dinner - 19th December 2006
Envelopes will be coming home 'today for your child?s choice of meal. ALL envelopes MUST be returned by Monday 20th November to enable our cook, Mrs Potter to order the ingredients. If your child would prefer a packed lunch, please mark this on the envelope and return. Thank you.

Next Friday is Children in Need and we will be supporting this cause. Please bring in a bear with a £1 donation.

Visit to St Mary's, Twyford
Our Year 2's had a moving visit to the War Memorial by St Mary's Church today to commemorate Poppy Day. Rev Simon and Lt. Col. Winthrop (Mrs Winthrop's husband) spoke to the children.

Tea Towels
Those who pre-ordered the tea-towels should have received them by now. We still have more to sell, so do pop into the office if you would like to take a look before you buy. They are available for the bargain price of £2.95 each.

Vote For Tomas Fleming - Reading Chronicle Christmas Card Competition
Tomas Fleming from Orange Class has had his entry selected to be on the short list for this exciting competition supported by Hunt & Nash Estate Agents. We will be getting more information, but apparently we can text our support for Tomas's entry and then it might be selected to be the chosen one how exciting!
VOTE FOR TOMAS!

Blue Peter/Unicef Appeal - ShowBiz Appeal
Bring us your old Shoes!!!!
This year, the Blue Peter Appeal has joined forces with Unicef to raise money for orphans in Malawi. Thanks to Tom in Green Class and his mum, Katie Sabberton-Coe, our school is now a collection point for your old, unwanted shoes. The shoes need to be a matching pair with no holes. Tie them together with string or an elastic band and drop them into school. Take a look at the web-site http://www.shoebizappeal.org.uk/

Thank you to our Parent Volunteers!
We are so lucky that we have many parents who come into school and volunteer their time with us. I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of all the staff and children, as it makes such a difference to lessons when there are more adults to work alongside the children.
