Newsletter No. 41
Friday 21st July 2006

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

We have decided to keep the current Year One classes exactly as they are. These classes have gelled very well and we don't think we can improve on the current working relationships that have been established. See below for staffing.
So here we are at the end of another school year! It has been a wonderful year, seeing all the children develop new skills and grow up. There are so many goodbyes and thank yous today - tissues at the ready!

Year Two Leaver's Assembly
Our Year Two children did us proud yesterday, with their marvellous assembly. They loved their Year Tv wo Leaver?s Bears ? many thanks to the PTA for the funding. We wish them all the very best for the future.

Goodbyes to our Staff
We said a big goodbye to Miss Sohotey, Ulrike and Miss Harris who left today. Miss Sohotey has a full-time post at a school in Tilehurst, Ulrike is off to concentrate on her clothes stall in Portobello Road market and Miss Harris is off to do her teaching qualification at University. We thank them for all their work in the school and their work with the children.

Our hardest goodbye was to Mrs Hagley, who retired today after 20 years at Polehampton CE Infant School. Her contribution to the school is immeasurable and we miss her terribly.
We wish them all good luck for their future and hope they keep in touch with the school so we hear how they get on.

Community Art Project - The Figures Are Up!
Many thanks to Hazel and Sally for arranging to get the figures up before the end of term ? it's like a gift on the last day!

Junior School Uniform
Please note any outstanding uniform for the Juniors can be collected on Monday 4th September from 11.00.

Spanish Classes
We will be offering Spanish Lessons as an extra curriculum after school activity in September - watch this space!

Thank you to Everyone!
We have all received so many kind words, cards, gifts and donations today. On behalf of all the staff, thank you so much. This school is successful because of the excellent home and school links, so thank you for your support during the year, it makes real difference.

Have a fantastic summer! Good luck to all of those moving on! See everyone else in September for another excellent year!

Best Wishes,

Helen Ball
Headteacher
