Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
We have decided to keep the current Year One classes exactly as they are. These classes have gelled very well and we don't think we can improve on the current working relationships that have been established. See below for staffing.
Mrs Hagley's Leaving Assembly
We have managed to keep this a secret so far - thank you!!
Thank you to everyone who's contributed to Mrs Hagley's leaving gift. There is a card for parents to sign in the office. Please come along to our goodbye assembly next Friday at 10.15, if you would like to join us in saying thank you and goodbye.
Year Two Questionnaires
If any more of these are at home, could you pop them in and we really value your input. Thanks for those already returned!
Sports Day
We hope you will be able to join us on Monday afternoon for our Sports Day. We will be starting after lunch play, so please feel free to arrive about 1.30pm. We will all return to our classes afterwards, then you may collect your child if we finish early. Come prepared for toddlers, mums, dads and staff fun races too!
Church Service
We will be having our joint end of term service with the Juniors on Wednesday- please see your child's class teacher if you can come along and help us walk down to the church.
Blue and Red Class Assemblies
Didn't they do well??! We all know a lot more about Bears now, thanks to our Foundation Stage classes.
Ball Games before and after school
We have had a couple of incidents of little children being hurt by balls in the playground before and after school. So can we make sure that there are no ball games in the playground before or after school to keep everyone safe - thank you!
Sports Relief Mile - Well Done
Congratulations to all the children and staff - we all completed our Mile!! So by my reckoning, that's 163 miles for our school!! We have a few socks left if anyone would like to buy them or to make a donation to the Sports Relief Charity.
Twyford Advertiser - The Return of the Gunge!
We've made an appearance in this week's paper with news of our Summer Fair - though you can'?t actually see it's Mrs Cornelius at all!
Thanks to the PTA for all their hard work this year, it's been fantastic!
Stop Means STOP
Our Cross Patroller, Mr Jim Sim, has put out a plea to local drivers after he suffered his 4th drive through on the crossing last week.
"I've been doing this job for 5 years now and in that time I've had 4 cars drive through the crossing without stopping. Thank goodness there have been no accidents yet, but we need everyone to be aware and drive more slowly. There is a penalty for drivers who ignore the stop sign, but the priority is keeping our community safe."
I am so grateful to Jim for all the work he does every day, as well as popping into school to help us teach road safety. Some Wokingham crossings can't get staffed, so we are very lucky to have Jim out there, come rain or shine! You might have noticed he puts up a banner outside our school every day to promote awareness of the school crossing and the need for drivers to STOP. Please pass this on to any local drivers you know - Thank you.
