Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
Classes for Next Year
We will be having our "Visit your new class" morning on Wednesday this week, with the Yr2 going up to the Juniors and our new Blue class visiting, too.
Parents with children in Foundation Stage and Year Two classes will be receiving a letter next week indicating which class your child will be in next year. These decisions have been worked through very carefully, with teachers considering the number of girls/boys in each class, a range of abilities in each class, as well as friendships and children who don't work so well together. We have decided to keep the current Year One classes exactly as they are. These classes have gelled very well and we don't think we can improve on the current working relationships that have been established. See below for staffing.

Staffing for Next Year
As usual, we have a couple of changes for next year. I'm sad to announce Miss Sohotey and Ulrike will be leaving at the end of this term. Miss Sohotey is going to another school and taking a full-time post, whilst Ulrike is leaving to concentrate on her own clothing business. We will miss them both for all the hard work and commitment they have shown to the school.
I am delighted to announce that Mrs Winthrop is to stay on with us to work beside Mrs Smitheyman in Foundation Stage. We have also made an excellent appointment, an experienced teacher called Mrs Palmer who will be teaching in Year Two. She will be visiting the school next week to meet the children on Wednesday and talk to the teachers.
Miss Perkins will not have her own class next year. This will be an excellent opportunity for the school as Miss Perkins can develop her Deputy Head role, as well as working across the school, covering Year One and Two teachers as they have their half day out of class or if staff are out on courses.
The class organisation for next year is as follows:-
Year Group Class Teacher Teaching Assistants
Foundation Stage Blue Class Mrs Smitheyman/
Mrs Winthrop as
a job share Mrs Clarke
Year One Green Class Miss Wilberforce Mrs Rodgers &
Mrs Wallace
Year One Orange Class Mrs Cornelius
Year Two Yellow Class - all the children who
are currently Orange class Mrs Smith Mrs Wiseman, Mrs Wanden & Mrs Booth
Year Two Purple Class - all the children who
are currently Green Class Mrs Palmer
Meeting for Year Two Parents at the Juniors
Yesterday, Year Two children brought home an invitation from Mrs Montie inviting parents for a visit to the Juniors next week at 2pm on Thursday 6th July. I hope you will be able to make it. Please contact the junior school for any further questions - 934 1338.
Tuesday 4th July - Sports Relief Mile
Is your sock at the ready? You still have time to pop into the office to get a sock for Tuesday's fun-run! One sock to wear during the run, the other to be presented on completion of the Mile! Children can do this in their PE kits.
Marwell Zoo trip
A HUGE thanks to all staff and parent volunteers who came along on Wednesday for our Zoo trip. It was an excellent day, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves, learning a lot and sharing in the adventure together.

This is going to be a fantastic event this year, with so much hard work having gone into the planning already! Here's a few things to remember before you come
- The forecast is very hot ? plenty of sun-cream for everyone please!!!!
- The Hermitage Drive entrance will be the only entrance open
- As England are playing, you might want to wear sports clothes?!

- This year, there will be a sponge throwing event - bring an extra T-shirt if you want to have a go and get wet
