Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
The Sale of School Uniform
As I'm sure many of you are aware, the office can get very busy in the mornings! We have decided to limit the sale of school uniform to the afternoons only. Also, as Mrs Martin is here every day at hometime, but not every morning, this should make things easier. If you know exactly what you would like, you can pick up and complete an order form in the morning. We will get it ready for your collection at home time. We will try this next half term and see how it goes - thank you for your help in this matter.
Old Uniform Donations
Towards the summer holidays, we would be grateful if any Year Two children have any uniform, which they would kind enough to leave with us. We particularly need spare PE kits. Thank you!
Red Class Open Morning
It was lovely that so many parents were able to stay for our Open Morning this week - I hope you had a chance to see what was going on and how they are getting on in school.
We would be delighted if any parents were free to volunteer now in Red Class, particularly for the reading session from 9.00-9.30. Please sign up on the list outside the class. Should you prefer to volunteer in another class, please pop into the office or catch me in the playground. Regular volunteers require a Criminal Records Bureau check - please see Mrs Martin for details of how to apply.
Polehampton Day - Thursday 8th June
We are getting excited about this new joint project with the Junior School.
The format of the day is as follows:
- At about 10.30, the Infants and Year 5 will walk to the Juniors. The Infants will have a playtime while the Juniors watch the play.
- From about 11.30, there will be maypole dancing and country dances in the playground, weather permitting!
- After that, the children will have a picnic lunch on the field. Any children who have school dinners can order a packed lunch from the kitchen that day so that they can join in with their friends.
- At 9.30, the Year 5 children will come to the Infant School to perform a short play on the life of Edward Polehampton.
We would be delighted if parents could join us for any part of the day, especially the picnic.
Reverend Simon Howard will be at both schools to lead us in prayers of thanksgiving.
We are hoping to make a bid for funding next year to help us develop our little play into a community arts project. We would like to involve writers, musicians, artists, local historians and other members of the community in creating material for a major annual festival in Edward Polehampton-s name. We are in the very first, early stages of development of the project and we should like to thank one of our parent governors, Hazel Keelan for her inspiration and support in putting the bid together.
The Junior School's Aerial Shot
Wow! We loved the aerial shot which appears in today's Twyford Advertiser. What an exciting idea! P for Polehampton

Community Arts Project
We really enjoyed our last Arts Project session yesterday. Many thanks to all the local businesses, children, family and friends who joined us for all the fun, particularly to Sally Rodgers and Hazel Keelan for initiating the project, getting the funding and planning the sessions. Thanks also go to Jo Bryant for planning the drama aspects of the sessions - it's been such a lot of fun thanks to their energy and commitment to the project.
To complete the project, Sally and Hazel would like to have a quick evaluation session, which has been planned for Thursday 8th June at 3.20 in the hall.
Then the big celebration! On Thursday 22nd June from 3.20-5.30, everyone who came to any session and helped with the work is invited to a celebration and to view the finished work. There will be invited guests, plus all the local businesses who joined us, and tasty nibbles!
Weather Outlook for the half term break, mixture of sunshine and rain, again!
Have a good half term break.
