Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Mrs Hagley retires this summer - Miss Wilberforce stays with us next term
Some big news for our school is that after 20 year of working at Polehampton school, Mrs Hagley has decided to hang up her chalk and will be retiring this summer. Whilst I'm delighted for her and her family, we will miss her terribly! We cannot thank her enough for all her work for the school and will give her a suitable send off at the end of term.
I am however, very pleased to announce that Miss Wilberforce will be staying on with us next year.

Reports Sent Home Today
Year One and Two children will be bringing home their annual teacher report today - Blue Class children will have them sent home on Monday. We will be holding our end of term Open Evening on Wednesday 12th July, when you will have a chance to talk to your child's class teacher and look at their work. Year Two parents will be given their pupils' end of Key Stage levels at this time. However, if you wish to discuss any issue before then, please do make an appointment with your child's class teacher.
Thank you to all the teachers for putting in such a lot of work to complete these important records of achievement.
Red Class ' As your children have only just joined us, their reports will come out at the end of term.

Polehampton Day ' Thursday 8th June
We have decided to begin a new tradition of celebrating the life of our founder, Edward Polehampton by having a special day in his honour. The Junior school will be performing a short play about the life of Edward Polehampton, which will be followed by country and maypole dancing from both schools and a family picnic lunch in the Junior School grounds. Parents are most welcome to join us.
Full details will follow.

Red Class Open Morning
Next Wednesday from 9.00-10.15am, we'd like to invite all the parents from Red Class to visit the class. The children love showing their parents around their new class, introducing you to their friends and generally being in charge! We hope you will be able to stay for some or all of the time.

World Cup - England Dates
To get in the World Cup spirit, everyone will be allowed to wear sports clothes on any school day that England plays. Definite dates are
- Thursday 15th June
- Tuesday 20th June
We hope there will be more to follow??. 
We ask for a contribution of £1 a day, which will go to buy additional equipment for PE and playtime games.

Health and Fitness Week - Sports Relief
We are all getting fit and healthy - oh yes we are!!!! In time for Sports relief, we will be running/hopping/skipping a mile (in a couple of goes for our younger children - and some of the staff!) in the school grounds.
After the holidays, we will be selling Sports Relief Socks for £2 a pair. The children run in the first sock which says "Doing it" and get presented with the second sock on completion of their mile - this sock says "Done it".
Take a look at their web-site at
www.sportrelief.com

Tesco Computer Vouchers
This scheme is coming to a close and we would be most grateful if you could bring in these valuable vouchers to assist us in improving our computer suite. Thank you.
