Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Leighton-Young for her handbags, Harpers Hats, Dental Surgery, Frostings, Brown Sugar, Atlantic Motor Cycles, Steve Hedger of Chissock Woodcraft Arnold Laver Timberworld in Reading and Wood Yards for their donation of wood.

Class Organisation - Junior School 2006
Polehampton Juniors are pleased to announce that as numbers are at the moment in both schools, from 2006, the Juniors will be able to return to separate year groups. In September 2006, Year 3 will be in two classes of approximately 25. Year 4 will be in classes of 22/23. We are thrilled that the schools are expanding again, and would like to thank everyone involved in both schools for their loyalty, hard work and commitment over the last few years which has brought this about.

Parent Governor
Please remember the closing date for this important role is Wednesday 3rd May at 9.00 a.m. Forms must be returned to the office by this time for consideration. Please see me or any other Governor if you would like to discuss the role further.

Pupil Absence
It's really helpful if you can call into school if your child is off school for any reason. We have to note the reason for all absence so your help in this matter is very much appreciated.

Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks
We will be contacting any of our regular volunteers next week, who haven't had their CRB check come through yet. This is standard procedure for all of our regulars - many thanks to them for their work in school.

Fire Alarm Practice - All Volunteers and Visitors to sign in at the school office please!
We had a very successful practice this week - our new Red Class were very calm indeed.
Please can all our parent volunteers and visitors make sure they've signed in so we can check they are safely out of the building too!

Book Fair
Book fair will be here next week!!! It will be open every day after school from Tuesday 2nd-Monday 8th May. For our Red class children and parents, we will be opening on Thursday morning from 8.45-9.15am. If anyone would be available to help set up and/or sell books, please see Mrs Martin or Mrs Hagley. To be held in the school hall apart from Tuesday and Thursday when we will hold the Book Fair in Red Class.

School Council decides out the Football Plan
We've worked out our Football Rules for Having Fun and Keeping Safe this week, please see below. We've been trialling a plan so we can have a reasonable number of children playing football at once, which the School Council has reviewed this week. This timetable is on the window of Green Class for all to see.
I have been very impressed with the way the children are responding to the additional responsibilities we've given them recently - the Buddy Bus Stop, choosing their clubs, as well as school council, so well done to them.
