Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
Permanent Deputy Headship
On behalf of the governors, I am delighted to announce that Miss Becca Perkins has been appointed as our permanent Deputy Head. Miss Perkins has been acting Deputy since Christmas and I'm sure she will continue to make an excellent contribution to the school now that this post is permanent.
Welcome to Red Class
A big welcome to our new pupils, Miss Wilberforce, their teacher and Miss Harris their teaching assistant! It's so lovely this term, when we have all our pupils in our foundation stage classes.
Red Class Parents meeting - Wednesday 26th April at 9.00am
I hope to see our new parents at this meeting next week. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss how and what we teach in their first class and give you a few ideas for how you can help your child at home. You will have an opportunity to ask general questions about any aspect of school life.
"One way system" outside of Blue/Red/Green classes
We have been trying out a "one-way system" in the mornings outside these classes, which is working very well. So if you are dropping off children in any of these classes, please leave through the hall and down past the office - this has greatly reduced congestion as pupils come in and hang their coats and bags. Thank you!
Admissions to Infant and Junior School - September 06
Wokingham District Council will be sending letters out today with offers of places for children joining us next academic year and to those moving to their next school.
If you do not receive a letter shortly, please contact the council directly to ensure that your child has a place in school for next year. If you have not yet sent in a form requesting a place for your child, please call the council immediately. The number to ring is 0118 974 6131/6111/6131.
Football Coaching Session
We had a very successful coaching session with Martin Elcox from Reading FC this week. We will be running an assembly on Monday next week to follow up on this work and ensure all pupils understand how to play safely and fairly.
Community Arts Project
Mrs Rogers, with the help of Mrs Hazel Keelan and Mrs Jo Bryant, will be running a 5-week arts workshop every Thursday during June after school (3.30 - 4.45). Carers, parents, grandparents are welcome to pop along to these drop-in sessions. The aim of the project is to assist in the creation of three sculptures that will eventually be display in and around the school. This venture has captured the interest of some of the village shops ie, Hodge Podge, Waitrose, Brown Sugar etc. At the end of these sessions, will be a small celebration and the local press have been invited. If you would like to help or would like more information, please see Mrs Rogers.
