Friday 10th March 2006
Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,
DISCO - SOLD OUT
I'm looking forward to seeing the children (and parents!) to throw some fantastic shapes on the dance floor tonight!
This event is completely sold out, so no one will be allowed to pay at the door, I'm afraid! Thank you to the PTA for organising this popular event.
Green Class Assembly
What a treat Green Class gave us this week and it was lovely that so many parents were able to come along.
Maths Evening
Thanks to everyone who was able to attend our maths evening this week - the feedback I've had has been very positive. Many thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to plan and organise the event, especially Mrs Cornelius, our resident maths expert! I'm still thinking of bipods and tripods!!!
Sponsored Pancake Toss
Many thanks to the families and friends who sponsored our children in the pancake toss. You managed to raise a whopping £638.78 so far and there are more funds outstanding. Due to the Gift Aid process, can we please ask for any outstanding sponsor money to be handed in by Thursday 16th March. Thank you very much.
Quiz Night
Our next PTA event is the Quiz Night. This is a seriously fraught evening with the Teachers already planning their strategy for victory! Please get your forms in as soon as possible.
Lost Girls Watch
One of our Y2 pupils lost her watch on Friday 3rd March. May we please ask that you check your child's Reading Bag. Thank you.
Uniform - Labelling
We are still experiencing problems with uniform that has not been labelled. If you write your child's name in pen, please renew every now and then, as washing will fade the ink. Alternatively, you may wish to consider purchasing sew-in labels, forms available from Mrs Martin. Cost is £5.00 for 6 dzn labels in a choice of colours and designs.
Happy Hours Easter Fayre
Takes place on Saturday 18th March 10.30 - 12.30. Please call 07788 877 559 for more information.
Twyford & Ruscombe Pre-School Easter Egg Hunt & Fayre
Takes place on Friday 24th March from 11.30. £2.00 for the egg hunt or £3.00 to include picnic lunch. Please call 07765 835499 for more information.
Healthy Schools Task Group
We would very much like to set up another Healthy Schools Task Group to support the school with going for the next stage of the Healthy School Award Scheme. Last year, this group was crucial in the success of the scheme. We would like to start by looking at the new criteria for the scheme and deciding an action for our work. We have set a date for the first meeting on Monday 27th March at 2.15pm, so pop that date in your diary if you can make it or see me if you'd like to help out in some way - many thanks!
