Newsletter No. 39
Friday 18th July 2008

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Year Two Leavers’ Assembly
You did us all proud this morning Year Two. All those lovely memories, songs and dance. I really think you loved your Polehampton Bears – I hope they help you remember all your happy times here.
Thanks for all the parent questionnaire responses – a copy of the main findings will come home on Monday.

120th birthday arrangements
Please see the attached letter (available to download below) for news about our 120th Birthday celebrations. As we’re all dressing up, we thought you’d appreciate some notice. Year Twos, we haven’t sent this home with you, as you’ll be starting your new adventure at the Junior School, but the information is on the website if you’d like to have a look.

The Summer Fair
We did it again! A great afternoon of family fun and in no way deterred by the rain.
There are some photos on our Gallery Page, in this week’s Twyford Advertiser and on 2tenFM’s website as well, so do take a look at the fun. I would like to thank all the PTA who gave so much of their time, before, during and after the day. You made the event what it is and we couldn’t do it without you!
We’ve had a balloon ticket returned from Sweden and one from Holland so far!

PTA News
Summer Fair – Thank you!
It was fantastic to see so many families having fun with all the activities and games (especially “dodge the rain shower”) on Saturday.  Together we have raised a massive profit of £1230!
A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time in advance and on the day, we couldn’t have done it without you! Enjoy the summer holidays, see you in September.

Best wishes
Your PTA Team

P.S. We have one cake container left after Saturday’s Summer Fair, if this is yours please collect from the office.

Church Service on Monday
If you are able to walk us down to church on Monday afternoon, please see your child’s class teacher to volunteer. Due to the growing numbers of our school and the juniors, I’m afraid we can’t make this an open invitation to all – we’ve been planning with Revd. Simon to sort out extra chairs and seating arrangements. What a lovely problem!

Medications
If you leave medication with us, please ensure it is all collected before the holidays. It’s a good chance to check the dates at this time, so you get a new prescription organised for September if necessary.

Lost property and children’s personal items
We will be sending home all coats, hats, PE kits etc for the holidays. Do please pop in if you think your child has anything else left in school.

Second hand uniform
If you have any uniform that your child has outgrown but still has some wear in it, do pop it into the office. It’s always useful for the occasional “accident” or to have a second hand clothes sale. If we ever get too much, we send it up to Feed the Children or other local charities.

Board Game survey
Students at The Piggott School are conducting a survey on Board Games for their market research on graphic design.  The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete.  If you would like to take part please collect a  form from the office and return by Tuesday 22nd July – thank you

Local Weather Forecast
Light showers on Saturday, Sunny intervals on Sunday!
