Newsletter No. 38
Friday 11th July 2008

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

PTA Summer Fair
I am looking forward to tomorrow’s summer fair. We have a dry and a wet weather plan, so it will be going ahead, come rain or shine!

Just a few reminders so we can all have a happy and safe day.
The new climbing play equipment is for primary school aged children only aged 4-11. The house, boat and train are for any age. We do ask that you supervise children whilst they use it, though we will have a member of staff watching over as well to monitor use and check we have reasonable numbers.
Lost children – we will put the “Buddy Bus-stop” by the boat and tell all the children if they are lost, to head for that.
A couple more notices…
We will have a Grand Opening of the New Equipment. Every school child who is still here at the end of the afternoon will be invited to cut a giant ribbon wrapped around the climbing frame. The children have been told what to do in assembly today – it should be great fun!!
If you have any more balloon tickets, sold or unsold, please bring them along on the day, as we’ll continue to sell until 3.30pm. Unsold tickets are urgently required as we will be able to sell these on the day.
If you can give any time on the day to volunteer either during the morning to set up or during the fair, please find either Ali Sinfield or Claire Lawrence and they will find you a job.

Thanks for all the donations and time given to support this event – we really couldn’t do it without you!

Year Two assessment results
Every child will be bringing home their assessment results today.  Most parents have already talked to their child’s class teacher about these at parents evening this week, but if anyone else has questions or comments, do pop in.
You will also find enclosed a sheet looking at comparative data. It shows the current year two’s average marks and last year’s national average scores (it is too soon to have this year’s national scores yet). It gives you an opportunity to see what the national picture is and what our school’s results are.
The year two children had a super time yesterday meeting their new teachers. Mrs Montie said they were “wonderful” and was delighted how many parents attended the meeting she held this week.

Education Up-date
Thanks to our associate governor, Mrs Harper for her termly education update which can now be found on our website. The theme is “E-safety” – looking at how we keep our children safe when using the internet – very interesting indeed!

Blue and Red class bought Noah’s arc, aqua play and racing car track.
Thank you from Bella and Heather.
