Newsletter No. 37
Friday 4th July 2008

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Year Two Trip
The Year Two classes had a wonderful time at the Lookout Discovery Centre yesterday.  They were lucky with the weather and everyone had lots of fun.   There were some very tired looking faces arriving back at school at the end of the day!  Many thanks to all the parent helpers who joined us for the day, we couldn’t do trips without your support and it is much appreciated.

Open Evenings
Our Open Evening will be on Monday next week (7th July) from 3:30 – 6pm for all Year 1 and 2 classes (not Blue or Red Class).  Blue Class open evening will be held at the same time on Tuesday (8th July).  Please come and visit your child’s classroom and have a look at all the hard work they have been doing this term.  This will operate as a drop-in so come along anytime.  It’s a great chance for your child to show you their work and talk to you about what has been happening in school.  The class teachers will be available for an informal chat but if you would like to discuss anything with them more privately please arrange an appointment for another time.

Year Two parents – we hope to have your child’s Key Stage One assessments back from the local authority for you to see on Monday evening.  If they are not available for the open evening we will let you have them as soon as possible.

Blue and Red Class Assembly
What a treat!  I was so impressed with all the children, especially as for lots of them this was their first class assembly.  Thank you to all the staff in Blue and Red for their hard work and also for all the parents and friends who came to watch, hope you enjoyed it!

Red Class Reports and Parents Evenings
Red class reports are coming home today.  I’d like to thank Miss Wiid for her detailed reports for Red Class – how well you know the children so quickly!  I’m sure you will find them most valuable.  Parents of Red Class children should also have been given an appointment time on either Monday or Tuesday next week to talk to Miss Wiid, please let us know if you need to make a different arrangement.

Parent Questionnaires and Consultations
Thanks for all the received papers for consultation on admissions and Year Two parent questionnaires. We will collate the responses and let you have the results before the end of term. We do appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Invitation to Parents and Carers of Year 2 children
You are invited to a meeting at Polehampton C of E Junior School on Wednesday, July 9th at 2.00 pm.  There will be a chance to:

We look forward to meeting you again.
Hope you can make it!
