Newsletter No. 26
Friday 28th March 2008

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Purple Class Assembly
Well done to Purple Class for their fabulous class assembly this week.  They have obviously put such a lot of effort into their wonderful hand puppets and we really enjoyed the puppet shows!  Thanks too for all the help we’ve had with the sewing!

Year One Trip to Kew Gardens
Many thanks to Mrs Cornelius and Miss Wilberforce for organising the super trip to Kew Gardens and to all the staff and parent volunteers who came along to help on the day. It was great to explore the different habitats – the children learn so much from real life experiences. Take a look at the Orange and Green class pages for some photos of the day.

Thank you from Blue class
Blue class are happy because you bought lots of yummy cakes and we bought Lego and puppets.

Abi

Blue class are very excited to get new Lego and puppets.

School Nurse
We are pleased to say that Alison Goddard, the School Nurse, will be coming into school next week to talk to all our Year 2 children about care of themselves.  This fits in with the PSHE Curriculum.  Alison will include a talk on head lice as this is an issue which is currently affecting many schools in her area.

Non-Uniform Day
Thanks to everyone for your £1 donations today.

Tag Rugby Reminder
Coachmark should have contacted the parents of children already attending Tag Rugby to let them know that there will be no more sessions this term.  However, we have now been offered a new slot for the Summer Term on a Monday after school.  Please can you let Mrs Dobson in the office know if your child would be interested so we can confirm numbers , especially those children who attended the Tuesday morning sessions – thank you.

Anyone for Tennis?
We are looking at the possibility of holding tennis coaching at school next term on either a Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday morning.  This would run for 10 weeks at a cost of £5 per session. Rackets will be provided however they can also be purchased from the coach for £18 should you prefer.  In order for this to take place we would need at least 8 – 10 children to take part.  Again, if you would be interested in this please can you let  Mrs Dobson in the office know.

Twyford Village Centre Management Initiative - Reminder
You are invited to an informal cheese and wine evening  at 8.00pm on Thursday 3rd April at Loddon Hall, followed by a public meeting.  For further information please contact tvcmi@hotmail.co.uk

PTA News
The PTA Easter raffle will be drawn at Blue Class assembly – winners will be contacted from the school office and the results will be in next week’s newsletter.

Local Weather Forecast
Heavy rain on Saturday, Sunny on Sunday!

Have a good weekend!
