Newsletter No. 25
Thursday 20th March 2008

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

Easter Celebrations
Thanks to all the parent volunteers who accompanied us to church yesterday. I’m sure you’ll agree it was a moving service. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the wonderful bonnets and baskets at today’s parade!

The Easter Colouring Competition
Well done to the winners:-
Ellis Martin – Reception
Stacey Lorenzo – Year 1
Lewis Care – Year 2

Parent Governor Consultation – feedback on suggestions
Assembly times
We have looked at our assembly times and have decided we can change things around so that class assemblies are held at the beginning of the day, which was one of the requests made. This will mean moving them to Thursdays, so the teachers and children have time in the week to prepare. This will start from next term.

Lunch next Tuesday - Salmon Pie
If your child had the salmon pie last time it was on the menu, they may have mentioned that it wasn’t very tasty and it nearly all ended up in the bin! We have been in touch with Edwards and Ward and given feedback on this dish, as we don’t like to offer dry and unappealing food!  In the meantime, Mrs Potter, our school cook, and I have decided that on those Tuesdays, we will offer children the vegetarian option (which is jacket potato and/or beans) unless you specifically request the salmon pie. So, from now on, if you would prefer your child to have the salmon pie, please put a note in their purse on that day; otherwise they will be offered the vegetarian option. Thankfully, this is an unusual situation to be in, as the menu is well thought out, with good produce used and we have a wonderful cook!

Just a reminder that the closing date for this scheme is Monday 31st March 2008, please send in all your tokens asap so that we don’t miss out on our free books – thank you
