7 Mar 2008 - Newsletter 23
Friday 7th March 2008
The Governing Body of the Junior School would like to share their OFSTED report with you. Mrs Montie says “ It is a pleasure to share our recent OFSTED report with all the parents and carers, staff and children of the Infant School. I hope you enjoy reading it”.
Thanks to those who wrote in suggestions or were able to attend this session last night. We had a really interesting discussion, with lots of ideas that we can work on to improve the school further. As our Chair of Governors, Mrs Debbie Richards said, she was pleased that there were no significant or fundamental issues that arose that need immediate or urgent attention; most ideas seemed to be things we could steadily work on or smaller things that might be quick to change. I will write a summary of our work so far for next week’s newsletter.
These are going fast, so do pop in if you still need to get yours.
As usual we will be holding our Easter Bonnet and Basket parade as part of our Easter assembly on Thursday 20th March. These are things for the children to make at home and bring in on the day. They can make both or one item, depending how keen they are!
On Friday 14th March Twyford and Ruscombe Pre-school is holding an open morning for all prospective parents and their children. This a great opportunity to find out more about this thriving pre-school, which has been established in the heart of the village for over 40 years. Committee members will be on hand for a relaxed chat over a cup of tea and toys will be available to entertain the little ones. The open morning is being held in the Annexe at Loddon Hall (enter through the main front doors) between 0930—1100. If you’re not able to attend but would like further information about the pre-school (prospectus, application form and Ofsted report) please phone 0776 9916 800.We look forward to seeing you.
As well as collecting vouchers we are also taking part in Tesco’s recycling scheme. By filling in the schools details on the recycle envelope being sent out today, you will enable the school to purchase more equipment for our IT suite.
Just a reminder that the PTA Quiz Night is next Friday 14th March and it is still not too late to join in the fun! There are spare forms in the office should you need one.
A big thank you to all who helped with Year 2 cake sale – we raised £80.
