Welcome to the Polehampton C of E Infant School Website

Our Mission: To be an inclusive and caring Christian community where everyone is encouraged to aim high.  Every Child Matters.  Every Person Matters.

We are very proud of our school and feel privileged to play a part in the education of your children.  We aim to make the school an excellent learning environment where children feel happy and secure, and where they will be challenged and supported in their learning. We hold regular Open Days for prospective parents or individual visits are available by appointment.

What's New?

Teachers for Next Year - We will be delighted to welcome two new teachers next year – Miss Nicky Deen, who will be working in Year Two and Mrs Erin Bushell who will be working in Foundation Stage. They will both be joining us on Tuesday for our Changeover day, so they can meet their new children. See our latest newsletter for details of our class teachers for next year.

NACE Challenge Award - I am delighted to announce that we have achieved the NACE Challenge Award this week and that we are the first primary school in Wokingham to do so, the 155th school in the country. See our latest newsletter for more details.

Important Information for parents of Year Two children - See newsletter 33 for details about Year 2 Buddy Dates, the Year 2 Parent Questionnaire, and a letter from Mrs Montie explaining about houses and a parents meeting she’d like to invite you to on Wednesday 15th July.

Thank you! - to everyone who has worked so hard to create our wonderful new sensory garden area, see the photos on our gallery page. There is also a new Garden Page on the Learning Platform with photos and sound clips.

Any paper going spare? - As you can imagine, we have a huge need for paper in school. If you know of any printing companies, places or people who have left over paper we could use in school, we’d be most grateful. We could use any size, colour or quality and we could use paper that has non-confidential information printed on one side – thank you.

BBC Bite size - We’ve been surfing and found that we really like the BBC website for practising numeracy and literacy skills. This is particularly good for year two children. Click on the link for great activities and games for your child to have fun while learning: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize

E-Safety - We have found this short video the CBBC web-site which you might think is appropriate to watch with your child, depending on how much access they have to the internet at home. Take a look yourself first so you can decide if it’s worth a look now or sometime in the future. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/help/safesurfing/cartoon.shtml

Our Suggestion Box - sits outside the office and is painted a beautiful orange-yellow colour. This is a great way to be in touch with the school if you haven't got time for a chat and for the children to suggest ideas. The School Council checks the box and discusses how to work on the suggestions. Miss Perkins takes any of more complex issues to a staff meeting for consideration.
